Bangladesh is the seventh most populous country in the world, locating at the East side of India.
Bangladesh is among the most densely populated countries in the world with a high poverty rate, once so called "the poorest country in Asia". However, per-capita GDP has more than doubled since 1975; the country is listed among the "Next Eleven" economies, identified by Goldman Sachs as having a high potential of becoming the world' largest economies in the 21st century along with the BRICs.
However, Bangladesh continues to face a number of major challenges, including widespread political and bureaucratic corruption, economic competition relative to the world, serious overpopulation widespread poverty, and an increasing danger of hydrologic shocks brought on by ecological vulnerability to climate change.
